Vasco da Gama Aquarium has always fostered a close relationship with its community, either by providing informal support to amateur aquarists, or by assisting those curious about aquatic animal life and opening the doors of its museum to private collections.
Similarly, there have been many institutional collaborations in the area of research - applied to aquatic sciences, educational sciences, history and others - and in the area of museology, by lending pieces from the collections for temporary exhibitions held in museums all across the country.
More recently, Vasco da Gama Aquarium has been discovering new areas of collaboration by opening its doors to the school community, creating projects of mutual interest in the arts and sciences.
Either leading practical university classes at the Aquarium or visiting kindergartens with museum educational kits during Science Week, we want to continue to create connections with all those who visit us by being part of their lives.
Discover some of these projects in our Multimedia page.
