RECORDS OF OBSERVATIONS ON THE BEHAVIOUR AND BIOLOGY OF LIVING SPECIMENS

Every year, we log the occurrences of reproduction of several species of fish from the Portuguese coast in the exhibition aquariums. Although they are common coastal fish, it is often found that very little is known about their reproduction or that the occurrences of their reproduction in captivity have never been reported. So, each time a fish species breeds for the first time in the Aquarium, we try to log as much information as possible. These logs describe the reproductive behaviour of the species, eggs, embryonic development, and larval development and behaviour.
