The ship was built to carry 50 guns, 28 in the gun deck and 22 in the deck and forecastle; however, it was never actually armed as a frigate because all or most of her missions consisted of transporting cargo, troops, passengers and exiled convicts.
1843 - Travelled from Daman to Goa with two pieces of artillery
1845 - Travelled from Goa to Lisbon with 18 32-pounder guns
1854 - Carried 44 32-pounder guns
1855 - The Frigate had the following armament:
- - 10 32-pounder guns;
- - 1352 32-pounder round shots;
- - 45 rifles;
- - 33 rifle pistols;
- - 6 bronze-barrelled blunderbusses;
- - 42 swords;
- - 58 bayonets;
- - 20 pikes;
- - 117 cartridge belts;
- - 75 sword belts;
- - 50 bayonet belts;
- - 42 sword sheaths;
- - 91 bayonet sheaths;
- - 40 cartridge belt straps;
- - 45 rifle straps;
- - 1 baldric.
1868 to 1873 - equipped with 25 guns
1873 to 1890 - equipped with 19 guns
1890- from this year onwards she served as Artillery School, so she was equipped with the Artillery used in the Navy for training purposes.
