Inkwell and pen given to the officers of the Portuguese Mission to La Spezia by the first crew of the first submersible, Espadarte, when they received the ship. The pen has the words “Zelo” (zeal), “Aptidão” (aptitude) and “Honradez” (righteousness) engraved in each one of the three sides. This pen has been used to sign contracts for the acquisition of several squadrons of submarines.
